About the role: Thiess are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join the team on an 8/6 roster FIFO out of Perth. Mt Holland lithium project is located 110km southeast of Southern Cross in the Wheatbelt region. The role of the Senior Mining Engineer is to provide the project with accurate and timely medium and short term mine planning systems and processes, to enable the business to meet its contractual production targets in a cost effective manner and seek opportunities to improve overall project performance.
About You: Tertiary qualifications in engineering 5+ years in a technical discipline at an open pit mining environment Sound understanding of mine operation, drill & blast, planning and scheduling Thorough understanding of open cut mining methods Strong understanding of the costs associated with mine planning and drill & blast activities Prior experience in leading and mentoring engineers is beneficial Ability to implement mining processes and systems in a brown or green field site Strong mining software experience (Vulcan, Surpac, Datamine, Minesight, etc) as well as the Microsoft office suite Able to demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed HSE goals in support of the department, site and company standards Well-developed analytical, verbal and written communication skills Good time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities What can Thiess do for you: Flexible working arrangements World-class health & wellbeing programs Salary sacrifice options A range of corporate discounts, including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products Referral bonus program About Us: At Thiess, we partner with our clients to deliver excellence in open cut and underground mining in Australia, Asia and the Americas.
