Granny Smith Mine (GSM) is an underground gold mining operation located 740km northeast of Perth, Western Australia.
Our people fly to the site on a chartered jet departing Perth Airport's Terminal 2 four days a week to Laverton with a travel time of around 85 minutes, or via road for employees residing in host community towns including Laverton and Kalgoorlie.
Role Details: Reporting to the Superintendent: Mine Planning you will be responsible for facilitating the optimal extraction of gold ore from Granny Smith Mine through the provision of comprehensive underground scheduling, project planning, and evaluation that achieves medium and long-term requirements of the business in alignment with EHS standards.
This role is offered on 8 days 6 days off 4 days on 3 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.
Benefits include: 6 % Site Allowance Annual Bonus Scheme and Cash Long-Term Incentive Plan & Private Health Insurance Allowance Salary continuance scheme and life insurance Virgin Velocity reward points Continual training and the ability to expand your career About the role: Dedicated mine scheduling role with ownership of monthly, quarterly, and yearly budget schedule deliverables Producing schedules that safely meet budget and strategic plan targets whilst considering geotechnical, ventilation, operational and major project constraints/interactions Collaboration with site and Long-Term Geotechnical, Planning, Maintenance, Commercial and Ventilation teams Recommendations for the site Strategic Planning Process with the Long-Term Planning team Chairing monthly stakeholder engagement meetings for communication and input into mine schedules Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by contributing to the optimisation of systems, processes and practices, regularly reviewing and identifying new opportunities, and developing these on instructions. Ensure maximum return on investment by carrying out optimisation and evaluation work, assisting with calculating ore reserves by established planning policies such as cut-off grades and legislative requirements. About you: Degree Qualification in Mining Engineering First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency, or the experience obtained to acquire certification within 6 months Extensive displayed underground mining experience with excellent knowledge in the fields of scheduling, ventilation, projects, paste fill, planning and production Experience using Microsoft Office and mining software including Deswik and Xeras is essential Applications can be submitted via: Gold Fields is committed to achieving an inclusive workforce.
