Granny Smith Mine (GSM) is an underground gold mining operation located 740km northeast of Perth, Western Australia.
Our people fly to the site on a chartered jet departing Perth Airport's Terminal 2 four days a week to Laverton with a travel time of around 85 minutes, or via road for employees residing in host community towns including Laverton and Kalgoorlie.
Role Details:
Reporting to the Superintendent: Mine Planning you will be responsible for facilitating the optimal extraction of gold ore from Granny Smith Mine by providing comprehensive Underground project planning, evaluation, and scheduling that achieves medium and long-term business requirements in alignment with EHS standards.
This role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.

About the role:
Undertake underground medium-term mine design and evaluation work, while working alongside long-term planning team.
Manage your team to deliver safe and optimal short-term planning and infrastructure designs, in line with the production schedule to support the delivery of the Business Plan.
Conceptual and detailed design of all aspects of an underground mine including but not limited to ventilation, dewatering, backfill, electrical and other services as required.
Liaise with operational and service departments to enable a strong short to medium-term planning process to deliver operational needs.
Actively participate in operational reviews of performance to constantly improve the mine planning processes.
Ensure that all members of the mining team have a clear understanding and direction of objectives through the coordination of regular planning meetings; ensuring deliverables are accurately recorded and distributed.
Ensure maximum return on investment by carrying out optimization, design and evaluation work, calculating ore reserves under established planning policies such as cut-off grades and legislative requirements.
Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement by contributing to the optimization of systems, processes and practices, regularly reviewing and identifying new opportunities, and developing these on instructions.
About you:
Degree Qualification in Mining Engineering
First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency, or the experience obtained to acquire certification within 6 months
Extensive displayed underground mining experience with excellent knowledge in the fields of production, ventilation, projects, paste fill, planning and scheduling
Experience using Microsoft Office and mining software, preferably including Deswik and Xeras
