MMS are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Senior Mine Geologists for a greenfield production mining project in the goldfields region of Western Australia.
This role will be offered on a 8/6 FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie roster.
About the Role As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of our mining projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to high-quality standards.
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated mining team.
Responsibilities: Provide geological guidance and support during drill and blast operations to ensure optimal fragmentation and ore recovery. Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and interpretation to aid mine planning and production activities. Collaborate with mine engineering and operations teams to develop short and long-term mine plans that maximize ore recovery and minimize dilution. Monitor ore grade control processes and implement strategies to maintain grade quality and optimize mill feed. Conduct regular geological audits and reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in mining practices. Mentor and guide junior geologists and technicians. Ore and geological interpretation/wireframing incorporating. Drilling and mapping results. Grade estimation and modelling with good understanding Geostatistics. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in production open-pit mining, with a focus on gold deposits. Strong understanding of geological modelling software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan). Experience with grade control, ore reconciliation, and resource estimation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated leadership abilities and a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced operational environment. Commitment to safety, the environment, and ethical conduct.
