The Role We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Database Administrator to join our IT Department.
In this role, you will oversee the administration and maintenance of our Microsoft SQL Server environments along with MS Access databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security. You will also contribute to software development, enhancing our capabilities in Microsoft Dynamics AX and other platforms.
Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain day-to-day operations of MS SQL databases, including maintenance plans, backups, replication, SQL servers, and instances. Manage MS Access databases and develop front-end applications. Engage in software development using Microsoft Dynamics AX4 X++, MS Access VBA, Visual Basic Develop and support reporting in SQL using SSRS and SSAS Reporting. Implement and manage database security measures, data warehouses, and ETL processes, particularly for Shopify integration using middleware tools (Boomi) and Phocas BI Reporting Platform Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ensure robust database structures for scalability and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ERP and BI tool integration. Extract, transform, and load data, preparing it for use in BI tools to drive decision-making processes. Extensive experience with MSSQL Server, including server administration, replication, data warehouse management, security, and job scheduling. Preparing data for BI tool consumption Proficiency in Visual Basic, MS Access, and Microsoft Dynamics AX4 X++ or higher. Experience with ETL processes for Data Warehousing and Integration using middleware tools. Strong skills in data extraction and preparation for BI tools, ensuring accurate and timely availability of data for analysis. Preferred Skills: Experience in X++ coding language for AX, specifically AX 4 SP1. Familiarity with Boomi integration software. Familiarity with Phocas BI platform Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven track record as a Database Administrator with deep expertise in managing MS SQL Server environments. Strong background in application development and software programming. As well as the above, we want someone with strong communication skills, with a friendly, approachable, can-do attitude, a real passion for building things and committed to delivering high quality, resilient, secure systems. You are hardworking, a team player who can work autonomously when required. Ability to manage time and meet deadlines while balancing competing priorities. Strong analytical ability, integration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail, even under pressure.
