Currently an opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Microbiologist to become a key part of their quality team.
As Senior Microbiologist, you will lead microbiological testing for the site, ensuring the safety and compliance of products through food analysis, allergen testing and environmental monitoring. You will be responsible for analysing, trending and reporting results, managing laboratory quality systems, and guiding one direct report. Additionally, you will play a key role in site investigations and training operational staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine microbiology, allergen and environmental testing including sample receipt dutiesConduct investigations for any OOS results including troubleshooting any issues across the site. Maintain laboratory quality and safety systemsManage laboratory consumables Mentor a small teamPerform Operator training as neededCommunicate findings, results and recommendations to stakeholdersTo be successful in this position you will:
Hold formal qualifications in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related field. Present with a minimum of five years experience working in food or pharma microbiology laboratories.Have highly developed analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changeable environment. Be familiar with laboratory procurement processes and managing consumable stock levels.Previous experience in maintaining laboratory quality and safety compliance systems will be highly regarded.
Previous experience implementing food safety protocols within manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
