Glencore's McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead, and silver from our open cut mine, which is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to customers worldwide. Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Technical Superintendent and Principal Metallurgists in setting metallurgical targets
Assist with setting operational parameters to achieve or exceed budget results
Think strategically to assist with budget performance and operational improvement initiatives
Provide support and guidance to assist with the development of junior team members
Provide technical guidance to operational staff, ensuring metallurgical targets are achieved
Ensure all projects and activities comply with relevant Australian Acts, Mine regulations, and Health, Safety, and Environmental standards
Provide detailed reports on daily plant performance, project works, and test works in a timely manner
Successful applicant will have:
A degree qualification in Minerals Processing or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience in the mining industry, preferably in Pb/Zn minerals processing
Willingness to maintain and improve key metallurgical skills
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite
Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, safety systems, and legislative requirements for Zn processing
Ability to lead and manage work teams
Demonstrated knowledge of ultra-fine grind circuits, base metal flotation, SAG, and ball milling
Knowledge of PBOX leaching, dewatering circuits, and tailings disposal
