We are seeking a Parent Pathways Senior Mentor for our Great Southern Wheatbelt region , working from our Albany site .
About the Role The Parent Pathways Program aims to empower parents and caregivers by providing essential support and resources, helping them create positive environments for their children. As a Senior Mentor, you will be instrumental in guiding and supporting junior mentors, ensuring the effective delivery of program services and enhancing the overall impact on families.
Some of our core activities include:
Provide guidance, supervision, training, and support to junior mentors, ensuring they have the skills to effectively assist parent participants. Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating program activities and workshops. Support parents by addressing their needs related to parenting, child development, and community resources. Collaborate with community partners to enhance program reach and impact. Maintain accurate records and data related to program activities and participant outcomes. Use a person-centered, solution-focused approach to help participants identify personal, work, and education goals. Travel to outreach sites within your region as needed. Undertake any additional responsibilities as required by the program. About You To be successful in this role you are:
Passionate about working with our clients and local community networks. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to supervise and mentor junior staff. Excellent communication and organisational abilities. Experience with electronic Document Management systems is desirable. Knowledge of local community resources and support networks. Possess excellent administration and computer skills. Excellent people skills which can be used to build confidence and motivate people from diverse backgrounds. Have a current driver's licence. Satisfy a pre-employment check including a National Police Check and a Working with Children Check. Skills & Experience: You are able to demonstrate the below competencies:
Diploma or Tertiary qualification in Youth work, Community Services or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience working with diverse populations and demonstrated experience in understanding barriers faced by parents. Lived experience in the field of parenting or child development is highly desirable. Have knowledge of the local labour market, parent support groups and local stakeholders to support participant goals.
