Job DescriptionAbout the RoleReporting to the Bunbury Service Manager, the Senior Mental Health Recovery Practitioner will assist and facilitate developing consumers' skills to enable them to independently maintain tenure in the community. This role provides an environment within the accommodation facility that enables consumers to confidently embark on a journey of recovery and to attain the kind of life they desire. Under the guidance of the Service Manager, the role will also form part of the Senior Leadership team on site.
Key Responsibilities: Consumer Support & Recovery Develop and maintain personalized recovery plans in line with policies, promoting essential life skills.Engage families, carers, and significant others in the recovery planning process, respecting consumer consent.Handle critical incidents following organisational policies and procedures.Facilitate recovery-oriented group programs and 1:1 counselling sessions to support mental health and wellbeing.Operational Excellence Supervise Recovery Support Workers and ensure accurate, timely documentation of consumer information.Contribute to policy and procedure development and promote best practices in mental health recovery.Prepare monthly rosters, manage petty cash, and attend essential team meetings.Assist the Service Manager with reporting and compliance requirements.Work as part of a leadership team directed by the Service Manager, with the capabilities and willingness to take on higher duties as required.Recovery Planning & Evaluation Create person-centered recovery plans and crisis management strategies, reviewing them regularly.Develop therapeutic relationships with consumers and support them in setting and achieving recovery goals.Work effectively and in partnership with clinical partners and external stakeholder agencies to build the capacity of the service to meet the needs of our consumers.This role is full-time working at our service in Bunbury.
Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout YouTo be considered for this role, you will possess:
Qualifications Tertiary qualification in a relevant human services field and substantial experience.Experience Minimum of 3 years' experience in mental health, with case management and counselling skills.Knowledge and practice in mental health recovery principles and understanding community and primary health care sectors.Experience working in residential settings with people experiencing mental ill health (desirable).Proven ability in group facilitation and conflict management.Familiarity with relevant mental health agencies and administrative tasks like rostering.Strong communication skills for interacting with consumers, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders.Ability to maintain flexible boundaries that support a transparent, recovery-focused environment.Other Current National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than 6 months).Current Driver's License.First Aid Certificate and CPR.About UsRichmond Wellbeing is a leading WA mental health organisation, providing inclusive, community-based residential and outreach services for adults and young people.
