About the OpportunityThe Out of Home Care/Whole Family Team is a district wide, Tier 4 specialist Mental Health service, that provides therapeutic interventions for children and young people in out of home care, and, families where a Risk of Significant Harm (ROSH) has been made for one of the children and where there is a mental health and/or drug health issue in one or both of the parents.
Specialist, tertiary level assessment and evidence based, family and individual, trauma informed interventions are provided by the multidisciplinary team, as well as high level consultation to DCJ and other relevant key stakeholders where there are significant child protection matters for a family.
This is an exciting role that is district wide and based in Ingleburn, which provides outreach/inreach and clinic based appointments, that is targeted at innovative and dedicated senior clinicians who will be working with vulnerable children in out of home care and families where there is a risk of family breakdown due to significant child protection matters on a background of complex mental health/trauma/drug and alcohol issues.
There are many opportunities for professional development and group clinical supervision and an expectation that the appropriate applicant will possess knowledge in attachment theory and an ability to provide high quality dual diagnosis interventions for consumers across the lifespan who have drug health and mental health issues.
The clinician will have opportunities to participate in research and quality improvement projects and should possess the skills to provide support, training and supervision to less experienced clinicians/students.
