Northern Health is seeking applications from a motivated and suitably experienced community Older Adult Senior Mental Health Nurse to cover Long Service Leave from 02.12.24-14.2.25. Senior Mental Health Nurse RPN4 – Specialist Older Adults Consultation Service (SOACS) Bundoora Site About the Role: This role requires the Senior Nurse/Key clinician to provide specialist assessment, evidence-based intervention, and support for older persons with mental health issues, frailty, and/or comorbidities who reside in their own homes (including RACFs) in the Northern region of Melbourne. The work also involves providing support to consumers' families, carers, and close others, and consultation and support to the multidisciplinary teams.
To be successful in this role you will have: Experience working previously in older adult mental health community, including good working knowledge of MHWA 2022.Proven ability as a clinical and professional Acting Nursing leader.Registration as a Registered Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.Knowledge and referral/access processes to treatment delivery options within the Specialist Older Adult Consultation Service.Models a person-centred, culturally sensitive, ethical approach to care planning and provision.Demonstrates high-level problem solving in the planning, provision, and coordination of patient care.Next Steps: If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.
