These positions are based in Kempsey working across the Hasting Macleay Clinical Network. These are Temporary Full-Time positions until 30 June 2025 with the possibility of ongoing Employment or extension of contract. Port Macquarie | Visit the Hastings NSW What you'll be doing The clinician will use clinical expertise and extensive specialist knowledge to support families engaged in the service across the MNCLHD and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. You will be part of the Nurturing Connections PIMH team - establishing and maintaining team cohesion and collaborate over patient care Build strong partnerships to support the provision of care and ensure comprehensive communication and coordinate and continuity of care with the primary health providers and NGO's Create and maintain partnerships to support the provision of care and ensuring comprehensive communication and coordinate care of families subject to Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) case work IMHAOD Declaration Each person's unique journey of recovery will be supported by mental health drug and alcohol services in a way that fosters hope, purpose and resilience. IMHAOD Statement of Intention The intention of the MNCLHD Integrated Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Services (IMHAOD) is to provide recovery-oriented, trauma informed services that are guided by evidence-based practices and collaboration. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Perinatal and Infant mental Health Service. Nurturing Connections is a new specialist parent- child relational program based in the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health service in Kempsey. The program has been designed to provide assessment and interventions for pregnant women or caregivers experiencing moderate to severe mental illness and their children aged 0-4 years. This position will work collaboratively to develop, provide and evaluate dyadic specific intervention for vulnerable families where a parent or carer of a child (aged 0 to 4yrs) has a diagnosed mental illness. I nterventions will be delivered by face-to-face and telehealth modes. The Nurturing Connections team will work across hospital, community, Non-Government Organisations and home visiting settings. MNCLHD provides a diverse range of services to a population of approximately 215,000 people. It has a workforce of 4,694 across seven hospital sites and 12 Community Health Centres. Our local health district is committed to being a child safe organisation, it was important for our teams to learn about the Child Safe Standards and their use as a framework for making organisations safer for children and young people.10 Child Safe Standards recommended by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. A TALENT POOL MAY BE CREATED FOR FUTURE ROLES AND WILL REMAIN VALID FOR 18 MONTHS Current registration with the nursing and midwifery board of Australia with at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and post graduate qualifications in the relevant field; or Bachelor degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers; or Must hold qualifications recognised for general registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or Current full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with a four year degree in psychology, being a three year degree with a fourth year honours in psychology, or a qualification deemed equivalent by the employer and have completed a minimum of one year at the 9th year of service and thereafter point on the salary scale psychologist. Approved post registration tertiary qualification relevant to adult mental health, perinatal and infant mental health or extensive clinical practice in the field of mental health. Demonstrates high level clinical skills to provide consultancy service and work in collaborative relationships with other health professionals and stakeholders from a range of disciplines, to support delivery of evidence-based interventions to families in the perinatal period. Demonstrates an understanding of evidence-based interventions and the complexity and impact of parental mental illness and psychosocial vulnerabilities on pregnancy, parental ability, the parent-child relationship, and child development. Demonstrated strategic leadership skills with the ability to implement change across services with a multidisciplinary workforce to deliver integrated services. Experience in the delivery and evaluation of professional development activities. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organisational levels and demonstrated competence in the use of electronic information systems.
