About the role
The North Adult Community mental health team deliver a timely and consistent service to consumers/families/carers requiring mental health support, undertaking bio-psycho social assessments and providing ongoing treatment in collaboration with the consumer, families and carers, the MDT, and other supportive agencies to achieve agreed goals and outcomes. Clinicians use a recovery framework, focusing on a strengths-based approach. We're looking for a Mental Health Clinician to join the team on a full time basis of 80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADO
Community clinicians are required to work a rostered function covering weekends to facilitate urgent assessments and support to clients in their own homes, ED, medical wards and clients from youth and aged services. The duty function includes assessments over the telephone and medication management/support.
Key Responsibilities Provide evidence based and best practice clinical assessments, identify and prioritise clients Needs and develop risk management plans. Attend Mental Health Tribunals and ensure consumers rights are met under the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022Co-ordinate crisis assessments and admissions to mental health inpatients unit. Monitor physical health conditions and promote physical wellbeing. Monitor efficacy of medicationDevelop recovery plans in collaboration with consumers, families and carers, prioritise and action areas identified. Skills and experience Recent clinical experience in a range of mental health settings, including inpatient/community mental health. Well-developed mental health assessment skillsGood knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 and other relevant legislationGood knowledge of the recovery model and how this informs engagement with consumersWell-developed communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritise workload and respond to crisis situations. Culture & Benefits
