About Austin Health The ICYMHS department is committed to promoting the highest levels of mental health care for our patients. In realizing this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching, and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. The department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.
About the role The Senior Mental Health Clinician is an experienced mental health clinician who provides a high-quality clinical case management service that is informed by developmental, systemic, and collaborative strength-based frameworks and expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment interventions to infants, children, and their families.
The senior role is also required to lead, mentor, and coach the grade 2's in the team in partnership with the Team Leader and provide discipline-specific supervision to others across the organization. You'll join a friendly, collaborative, and supportive team of professionals who genuinely enjoy their work and the contribution they make both to children and their families and to the wider community. Exciting opportunity to join the Infant and Child Team as the program develops its services to the community.
A regular day will see you:
Assess and treat patients, liaising as appropriate with family members and caregivers to promote patient careFacilitate a coordinated approach to total patient management by working with other team members where requiredParticipate in continuing education activitiesCollaborate with multiple teams across the divisionAbout you You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in direct care. You'll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
You'll further have:
