As the Senior Access Team Clinician at headspace Melton, you'll lead and support the Access Team, providing day-to-day operational management and supervision. You'll also drive service development initiatives and engage in community outreach to raise awareness.
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, you will:
Lead and Inspire: Oversee youth-friendly early intervention services, ensuring the Mental Health Clinicians operate within headspace's values and strategic direction. Drive Clinical Excellence: Lead intake, assessment, and clinical services, supporting staff in workload management, professional development, and welfare. Support Young People: Provide comprehensive intake, assessment, and consultation to young people, families, and professionals. Foster Collaboration: Coordinate smooth intake and referral processes, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to care. Innovate and Develop: Deliver evidence-based brief interventions and lead group interventions to help shape service development and community awareness. What you'll need
You are passionate, energetic and determined to make a difference to health and wellbeing outcomes for young people. The following criteria must be met for consideration for this position:
Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing) and have full registration with AHPRA or eligibility for registration with AASW. Leadership & Supervision: Proven experience in providing leadership, supervision, and mentorship within a multidisciplinary team, guiding clinicians to deliver high-quality care. Mental Health Expertise: Extensive experience in mental health assessments, crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and evidence-based treatment for young people facing mental health or substance use challenges. Legislation & Policy Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation, government policies, and strategic directions related to mental health, particularly in youth settings. Problem Solving & Decision Making: Advanced decision-making and risk management skills with a track record of creatively solving complex problems, particularly in early intervention.
