Medical Administration (Healthcare & Medical) Full time We are a not-for-profit Centre of Excellence in Dermatology that delivers highly specialised clinical treatment, education, and research for skin diseases, skin cancers, and melanoma.
We run 24 sub-specialty clinics, a day surgery hospital, undertake clinical trials and research, and provide world-class education. We have dermatologists, plastic surgeons, registrars, nurses, and other health professionals who all work together to deliver the highest quality support and care to our patients.
About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and capable senior medical secretary/administrator to provide high-quality service to specialists within our clinical and day surgery areas.
The role will require excellent customer service skills with a mature and empathetic approach to problem-solving and patient care. You will have a track record of building strong working relationships and contributing positively within a team. Strong written and verbal communication, computer literacy, and attention to detail are essential to this role.
Key Duties include: Deliver senior medical secretarial support to our designated specialists, including daily patient schedules, diary management, and managing all queries and correspondence.Effective management of the full patient cycle, including bookings, admissions, preparation of surgical packs and quotes, billings and follow-up payments, discharge, and post-op appointments.Deliver excellent customer service to patients, doctors, nurses, and other stakeholders, ensuring a mature, professional approach.Prompt and effective resolution of all queries from patients and external health providers, including insurance and other agencies.Work collaboratively with the clinical administrative team and provide backup relief when needed.Assist in the preparation of medical reports and ensure medical files and databases are accurate and up to date.About You Demonstrated senior medical secretary/admin experience working in a specialist/surgical setting.Excellent customer service skills with a professional, mature, and empathetic approach to patients.Strong team player with the ability to build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.High level of computer literacy skills, including Microsoft packages and medical software.Sound knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare policies and procedures.Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.Strong time management and capacity to adapt to changing work priorities.High level of attention to detail.Relevant qualification in health administration or equivalent.Your application will include the following questions:
