This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Medical Officer to be part of the West Moreton Rural Health Service. In this role you will provide leadership of the multidisciplinary team to improve care by being a role model, reviewing and developing care process, monitoring emerging issues and leading changes.
This is a Permanent part-time (40 hours per f/n) and works at Esk, Laidley, Gatton and Boonah.

As a Senior Medical Officer working in one of our rural hospitals (Boonah, Esk Gatton and Laidley) a successful applicant will be required to practice as a skilled and competent senior rural generalist. This requires an applicant who can practice a high level of in-patient and emergency medicine, independently, with a broad scope of practice despite limited onsite investigations available. These positions will be based at one of the rural hospitals and the successful applicant will also be required to provide backfill at the other three rural hospitals when necessary.
About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
Passion for providing excellent clinical care to their community as a Rural Medical Officer.Experience in delivering quality care to inpatients, outpatients, Emergency Department clients across a variety of acuity and care needs.Knowledge and practical application of the National Quality & Safety Standards through the delivery of Safe and Quality focussed Patient centred care.Excellent communication and teamwork skills across a variety of settings including in an emergency.Mandatory Requirements: Possession of Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) +/- FARGP or Fellowship with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) will be highly regarded.West Moreton Health is one of the most rapidly evolving health services in the south east corner, with a community growth expected to almost double to more than 588,000 by 2036.
