The Exciting Opportunity: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Medical Officer to join our holistic organisation. Our mission is to empower our community to take responsibility for safeguarding their health and wellbeing from before birth to end of life.
The Senior Medical Officer plays a crucial role in the clinical operations team. As a key player in both operational and strategic aspects, the Senior Medical Officer is mainly responsible for overseeing compliance, clinical operations, and procedures, while delivering expert guidance in providing comprehensive and holistic health care services. This role will contribute to, and sometimes lead, efforts in clinical quality and safety, and will promote a culture of organisational reflection and continuous quality improvement.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:
Overseeing primary health care delivery for all ages, guiding a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally responsive care. Training and guiding junior doctors in some locations Collaborating with clinic operations to create effective clinical care systems and manage the multidisciplinary workforce. Aligning clinical staff with current therapeutic protocols and guidelines and providing medical advice and support. Reviewing and enhancing clinical governance, incident management, and risk strategies while promoting Aboriginal health worker models. Overseeing staff training, fostering learning, managing relationships with stakeholders, and reporting on performance, including patient care and financial metrics. The Successful Candidate: Current National Police Clearance AHPRA Registration Current Medical Indemnity Insurance Full registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia This is an urgent requirement, so please send your CV.
