SMHS is seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Media Coordinator to join a high performing corporate communications team.
The role will provide high level, strategic advice including crisis management advice to the Chief Executive, Area Executive Group and the Minister's office and is responsible for:
Responding to enquiries from media organisationsDrafting media statementsLiaising across all hospitals and sites within SMHS to provide communication supportProactively promoting SMHS and its key priorities, projects, and policy initiatives to a wide audienceThe successful applicant will thrive in a high-pressure issues-rich environment and have a nose for finding and pitching proactive media stories that contribute to building the reputation of SMHS services and hospitals, and increasing public awareness of the organisational and government support for initiatives that improve public health.
