Public Relations & Corporate Affairs (Marketing & Communications)Australian Energy Producers is the peak body of the explorers, developers, and producers of essential energy — oil, gas, and lower-emission fuels.Our organisation represents the businesses that are ensuring energy security and delivering substantial economic benefits to Australia.Australian Energy Producers has a long and proud history of advocating for the oil and gas industry since 1959, highlighting the immense contribution of the sector to the Australian economy and to our energy security.Our industry is a critical partner in delivering the net zero economy and has an important and long-term role in enabling the transformation of the energy system.Representing more than 95 per cent of oil and gas production in Australia, Australian Energy Producers works collaboratively with industry, the community and Australia's national, state and territory governments to ensure the country's regulatory and commercial framework enables a positive, sustainable, and competitive operating environment for the industry.About The RoleReporting to the Director Media and Communications, the Senior Media Advisor is responsible for implementing comprehensive media relations strategies that enhance Australian Energy Producers' reputation and effectively communicates key messages to stakeholders.The position contributes to the development and delivery of integrated communication and media strategies, supporting Australian Energy Producers' advocacy on behalf of our members.This role presents an exciting opportunity to be at the centre of some of the most important conversations of our time – energy security and reliability in a net zero economy.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute media plans aligned with the organisation's strategic priorities.Contribute to issues management and crisis communication planning and readiness.Monitor industry trends, news and industry activities to proactively shape media strategies and manage issues.Manage and deliver Australian Energy Producers' media releases, responses and opinion editorials in collaboration with organisation leaders.Manage and deliver Australian Energy Producers' trade media responses and article contributions.Act as a contact for media including out-of-hours and on weekends.Create and maintain media kits and communication materials to support the media program.Manage media interviews and press conferences.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with relevant media outlets and reporters.Manage and distribute Australian Energy Producers' daily media summaries, reports, transcripts and clips.Provide media and communication support for the annual conference.Assist in managing various database and CRM systems relevant to media and communications.Monitor and measure the impact of media strategies, providing regular reports on key performance indicators.Use data and insights to refine and improve media approaches over time.Contribute to the development and delivery of corporate communications including speeches, presentations, publications, newsletters, campaigns and other content.About YouTo succeed in this role, you will have:Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, or related discipline.Experience in media relations and corporate communication, preferably in the oil and gas, energy or resources sectors.Proven track record of successfully managing media campaigns and securing positive media coverage.Demonstrated experience in crafting media communications and working directly with the media to deliver organisation communications.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Ability to manage high-volume programs of work with multiple stakeholders and across different audiences.Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.Highly developed interpersonal and advisory skills and the ability to meet deadlines.Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative content ideas.Strong analytical skills.A strong network of media contacts from national, state and regional media including those covering the resources sector.Experience working in the oil and gas, energy or resources sectors.Experience working across different geographical jurisdictions.Crisis communication experience.We welcome your application in the form of a cover letter highlighting your experience and interest along with a detailed CV.1.
