Job DescriptionThis is an Expression of Interest for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer. UGL Major Projects division is expecting significant growth for 2025 in Western Australia as we support large Building Services Projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for locals and those open to FIFO and DIDO roles.
Responsibilities:Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for the accommodation units.Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all mechanical installations.Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure alignment with project specifications and goals.Conduct site inspections and quality control audits to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and construction teams, fostering a culture of excellence.Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize project disruptions.Manage project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring cost-effective delivery of mechanical components.Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, design specifications, and compliance records.About You:Degree qualification to Bachelor status in Mechanical Engineering (IE Aust recognised).At least 10 years' experience in hands-on mechanical engineering from concept to completion as a design engineer with a full understanding of local construction methodologies throughout all areas of residential development.Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.Have a strong understanding of Building Codes, utilities requirements, and building services to be implemented in residential buildings.Experience working on large accommodation villages made up of modular buildings or similar types of projects.Australian driver's license.About the CompanyUGL, formerly known as United Group, is an engineering company.
