Job DescriptionWood is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical & Piping Engineer (Oil & Gas) to join our growing team in Darwin, NT.
This is a permanent role to join our expanding Oil and Gas Operations team, due to recently securing several large projects with existing long-term clients, in addition to partnering with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry to provide Brownfield Engineering, Procurement and Construction services on a long-term, Engineering Service Contract.
This role is available as full-time / part-time (job share) basis.
Wood's Operations APAC (West) business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance, optimization, and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Southeast Asia.

ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Lead Mechanical Engineer and working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams across the project life cycle (Concept, FEED, Detailed Design), your role will be contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through the execution of assigned scopes of work and providing Mechanical engineering expertise to the business.
Working as part of an integrated project team you will be:
Creating and reviewing designs, drawings, specifications, and other engineering deliverables.Developing a range of engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, and technical requisitions.Meeting Mechanical engineering cost and schedule requirements in production of deliverables.Coordinating your own work schedule, preparing progress reports, and providing technical assistance to others.Keeping your Lead Mechanical Engineer apprised of project activities, recommending changes in plans and estimated cost.Reviewing vendor documentation and actively participating in design reviews.At Wood you will be part of an inclusive and diverse global community of inquisitive minds and industry innovators, partnering to create new possibilities.
QualificationsPlease note you must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia. Suitably qualified in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution with a minimum of 7 + years with relevant industry experience, you will have:
Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry on brownfields projects within an Engineering / EPCM office or gas processing facilitiesIn-depth technical mechanical knowledge - design and operationExtensive design and knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both international and Australian)Ability to manage risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirementsExcellent analytical, literacy and numerical skillsProven experience managing small teams of EngineersExcellent communication skills with proven experience in client facing rolesWhat will set you apart will be your in-depth Mechanical (Rotating & Static) & Piping experience in design in Oil & Gas - both onshore and offshore. You will also be currently based in Darwin / willing to relocate to Darwin.
