Your responsibilities will include: About the role: As a Senior Engineer, you will contribute to the AIR6500 Hardware solution and interfaces in the architectural model to the overall program solution. Your key responsibilities will include:
Working with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and System Architects to help guide hardware requirements and sizing for AIR6500 elements. Establishing the product baseline, working with Configuration Management team to manage the components, parts and assemblies within Configuration Management Tool. Authoring technical documentation and developing Technical Data packs as required. Contributing to the development and conduct of Technical Reviews. Assisting with the definition of the AIR6500 solution accounting for physical interfaces to accommodate future AIR6500 solutions. Conducting design activities, generation of 3D models and conducting Finite Element Analysis as required. Engaging with AIR6500 IPTs and Specialty Engineering groups to ensure common understanding of requirements and design considerations. About you: To be successful in this role, you will have:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Mechanical Engineering etc.) from a recognised institution, and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry). Knowledge of packaging for the ruggedizing of equipment. Excellent analysis skills with an ability to develop and evaluate alternatives to determine best value based on customer-provided performance weighting. 3D modelling with CREO or other 3D CAD software for concept solutions and engineering analysis. Finite Element Analysis with ANSYS. Shock and Vibration Analysis with numerical methods and/or FEA. Advanced communication and influencing skills including the ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports, briefings, updates, and other documentation to a wide range of stakeholders. Eligibility to gain an Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information. Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
