We are looking for a talented Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer to join our small but mighty industry-leading team in Melbourne, Australia.
This is a full-time hybrid permanent role.
Join us and you'll oversee entire design processes or assist as a technical expert on specialized designs; you will likely work on several concurrent projects.
You will be responsible for all HVAC, black utilities, public health services, building management systems, environmental monitoring systems, and fire protection systems.
The MEP team designs energy efficient, compliant, maintainable, and sustainable systems and solutions for technically complex manufacturing facilities, laboratories, central utility plants, offices, warehousing and packaging facilities within the life sciences industry.
In this role you will:
Assess the requirements of projects, breaking them into tasks, and work with the Project Managers to determine scope of work, budget and staffing. Write scope of works for mechanical or utility design based on preliminary review and meetings with the clients. Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems. Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required. Assign and review work of project design teams and check progress of work, alerting Project Managers to change of scope or additional services. Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals. Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project. Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for design questions. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering. Chartered Professional Engineer. 10+ years of design engineering experience – must have a good understanding of HVAC system design and experience with central utilities, including steam systems. Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting. Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude in administration to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others. Possess sufficient technical proficiency in the various facets of mechanical design to understand project requirements and apply the appropriate resources and execution approach for a successful project. Entrepreneurial spirit, displaying creativity and innovation by continually working to improve solutions, tools, methods and service delivery system. Preferred Qualifications Fire protection and plumbing design experience. Mechanical designation in Australia. Experience in the design of BioPharm facilities and associated utilities for the cGMP production of biological and pharmaceutical drugs. Experience in the design of Hospital Operating Rooms and Pharmacies will be considered. #J-18808-Ljbffr
