Your impactThe Senior Mechanical Engineer (Water & Dams) is responsible for providing consultancy and engineering services in the dams and water market in the ANZ region, specifically supporting our major dams engineering frameworks.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver technically excellent mechanical engineering designs and consultancy services.
Carry out independent design/review/assurance on projects.Drive business development and be responsible for work winning; identify new opportunities and support the win of these opportunities.Prepare bids and submittals as required; support section leaders and project managers in the delivery of financially successful projects.Develop and maintain strong key client relationships; act as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs key clients across the public and private sector.Maintain compliance with Jacobs QA procedures, including the deliverables review QA process.Mentor and facilitate the technical development of more junior resources to meet market requirements.Engage with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching.Promote a safety culture within the organisation and with our clients.You will work collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets of the team, section, and PU.
Attend client meetings where possible to gain an understanding of the relationships that we aspire to maintain.
Lead the team at meetings.
Ensure tasks undertaken are understood completely before stating.
Touch base with Team/Section Lead periodically to ensure that you are on the right track.
Monitor time taken as well as forward workload to ensure that the Lead is aware of any upcoming capability.
Meet and balance the scope of deliverables with time allocation.
You will support your PU to ensure it can thrive in a global setting, encouraging cross-geography relationships to maximize the benefit of global delivery to our clients and our people.
Here's what you'll needDegree in Engineering.Ability to author technical reports detailing methodologies, results of field activities, interpretation of results, and impact assessment.Experience in coaching and mentoring.Able to directly liaise with clients confidently and lead meetings with clients.Build relationships with clients, contribute to business development, and support the pursuit of new opportunities with existing and new clients.Effectively collaborate with the wider water resource practice to share technical skills, resources, or work packages.Attain/maintain proficiency in the use of standard tools, techniques, and equipment required for the undertaking, completion, and delivery of your work.Ensure sufficient knowledge of the legislation and policies relevant to our work.Ability to communicate results and analysis with internal and external clients.Build relationships with teams throughout the Jacobs business.LocationsMelbourne, Victoria, Australia
