About Yara Pilbara The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica.
Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

Yara are seeking applications for their permanent role of Senior Mechanical Engineer - Static.
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Senior Static Engineer will support the Maintenance and Reliability team working across Ammonia, Nitric Acid and Ammonium Nitrate production plants.
This position has ownership and accountability for ensuring the availability and optimal operation of Static Equipment, primarily but not limited to Pressure Vessel, Piping, Valves, Pressure Relieve Valves and Tanks at Yara Pilbara.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible to ensure that cost-effective maintenance strategies as required by plant mechanical assets are in place and executed in a planned and efficient manner to support Yara achieving its business objectives.
To achieve this, they are required to work in close co-ordination with Inspection department, Yara Technical Process Owner, Turn Around Organization & Operations department.
In practical terms they are responsible for defining and frequently reviewing assets' maintenance strategies, policy, processes, procedures and ensuring these are in place and being abided by relevant stakeholders.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is also responsible to provide technical support to capital projects and modifications required over the plants' lifecycles.
The primary responsibilities include:
Understanding of Engineering and Statutory requirements for a Major Hazard Facility Process (Chemical) Plant Develop, publish & maintain the Strategy, Policy, Processes & Procedures for Static equipment Demonstrate Excellent Leadership skills, Collaboration & Team Work by working closely with Inspection for compliance to the statutory norms.
Co-ordinating with various stakeholders Inspections, TPO and Operations for getting the right solutions in place.
Proactive in resolving the Technical issues with stakeholders Turn Around planning and execution under TA Organization.
Technically Support in planning and execution of the opportunity shutdown works with Maintenance Team.
Ensure Systematic Maintenance processes are followed as per TOPS & Site work management.
Has varying degrees of Knowledge and experience in following areas:Australian & International Standards as applicable to Static equipment Design and Maintenance Various Condition Monitoring Techniques of Static Equipment & trained on few of them Risk Based Inspection, Degradation Mechanism Techniques & Corrosion loops for Processes Root Cause analysis Techniques In-depth understanding of the Plant operation Implement Safe by Choice actions in respective areas Ensuring quality of JSEA and compliance to SSJA Job coordination with ops Analysis and preparation of job scopes Department and workplace Audits Contractor Management & their Safety Assurance of Job quality through compliance of ITPs Coordinate post job documentation Computer - Microsoft/e-mail/intranet/file management Understands Planning, Budgeting and Cost Control processes Aptitude for hands on working Ability and willingness to support 24 x 7 operations and to work after hours if required Willingness to serve in Emergency response if required Join us at Yara - click "Apply" to submit your application.
Profile Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) Full Professional Membership of the Institute of Engineers Australia (MIAust) Minimum 15 years of experience in a similar industry (Petrochemical, Gas Processing or Oil Refining); Understanding of Engineering and Statutory requirements for a Processing and or Chemical Plant Knowledge of maintenance management concepts and workflows Contractors management Strong SAP skills are a distinct advantage Intermediate/Advanced MS Office suite experience Must be fluent in English, written and oral Additional Information Yara celebrates diversity in all operations, practices, and engagement.
