Senior Mechanical Engineer | Renewable Energy IndustryWoolnorth Renewables is a renewable energy company with three operational wind farms in Tasmania. Two wind farms at Woolnorth in the far north-west of Tasmania and the third at Cape Portland on the north-east coast of Tasmania. These farms take advantage of the world class resources that we are exposed to in Tasmania and provide a significant contribution to Tasmania's energy needs.
About this role – Senior Mechanical Engineer: This role is a key part of a small team providing technical and project support across the business.
Based in the Launceston office, with a presence on the wind farms as required, this critical engineering support role will:
Provide effective support to the site operating teams for technical problem solving for mechanical components of wind farm operations.Input to and improvement of asset management plans, work instructions, technical specifications, and operating procedures.Assist to facilitate end-of-life site review and assessment for wind farm sites.Contribute to brownfield capital expenditure project work at the wind farm sites and support future development projects.Provision of monthly reporting against tasks assigned.Identify opportunities to improve the business effectiveness and efficiency.Undertake projects as reasonably assigned to you by the business. Projects may be technical or operational in nature, contributing to an environment of continuous improvement.Undertake research, administration, document developments or undertake other tasks as assigned to you, with supervision as required.About you: You are qualified in the area of Mechanical Engineering and looking for a varied role. Your expertise or experience will make a great contribution to our team, and you are keen to develop your skills and knowledge in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Ideally your experience will be as outlined below:
Bachelor Degree with 5+ years experience in an operational engineering environment.Competent user of MS Office applications.Previous Power Generation or Heavy industry experience or understanding is an advantage.Experience leading projects is an advantage.You are a proven self-starter who is able to collaborate in a small team. We will provide you with the resources to get the job done.
The successful applicant must have a current unrestricted driver's license and have a willingness to conduct field work on a regular basis as needed.
