We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our multi-disciplined engineering team.
This role will be an initial one-year Fixed-Term contract, with the possibility of extension or transition to becoming permanent.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer (SME) will be responsible for leading the mechanical design and development process for new product development.
The SME will provide technical leadership, conduct reviews of engineering documents, and contribute to the development of design basis and standard product design procedures.
Additionally, the SME will play a critical role in supporting product verticals, ensuring standardization across designs, and optimizing existing products.
About the RoleLead the mechanical design process for new products, ensuring that all components meet design specifications and performance requirements.Validate designs against industry standards and safety regulations, ensuring technical integrity of all components.Collaborate with the other Engineers and designers to ensure that designs meet performance requirements.Develop and review design criteria based on client specifications, contributing to the development of the design basis for various projects.Collaborate with the other engineers and designers to develop and review detailed design calculations and 3D models, participate in design reviews and the risk assessment process.Use Inventor, AutoCAD, and other design software to develop and refine designs.Provide technical support to stakeholders, including product verticals, procurement, and service teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.Contribute to the development of a standard procedure for building models and completing engineering efficiently for standard products.Support product verticals contributing to the development of design basis and standard product design procedures as well as assisting with completion of project documentation.Help identify areas for cost reduction and product optimisation and contribute to the development of a standard procedure for future product development.Support stakeholders, including product verticals, procurement, and service teams, by providing technical input.About YouBachelor or master's in mechanical engineering.Proficiency in software such as Space GASS, Inventor, AutoCAD, and CAD tools.Strong understanding of industry standards and safety regulations.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.Previous experience with bulk materials handling equipment design would be advantageous.High level of attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to multi-task and prioritise work.Analytical and innovative.Competency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential. #J-18808-Ljbffr
