An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Melbourne team for a self-sufficient and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join on a twelve-month fixed term basis!
What you will deliverAs the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for project quality, robustness and delivery of mechanical subsystems within a larger product development program. To break it down, you will:
Deliver robust and high-quality mechanical solutionsDemonstrate understanding of the system design objectives (cost, performance) and constraints (manufacturability, feasibility) and guide the decisions of the mechanical teams in accordance to theseBudget setting, tracking and forecasting for project mechanical effortDevelop instrument mechanical architecture and ensure quality of group mechanical deliverablesLead mechanical team to deliver quality outcomes to schedule and budgetProvide support in response to requests for assistance in matters relating to product and in-field issuesEstablish, implement and manage build activities within Invetech staged development programsSupplier and stakeholder managementWhat you will bringYou will be a collaborative team player with a passion for discovery and a commitment to workplace wellbeing and safety. As part of a small, tight-knit team, strong relationship building, and communication skills will be critical in this role. You will also bring:
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentAt least 6 years relevant experience in product development including complex electro-mechanical devicesExtensive experience across the product development lifecycleExperience developing equipment for use in cleanroom and cGMP environments highly regardedDemonstrated design expertise in at least one of the following disciplines: robotics, fluidics, optics, mechanisms, plastic moulding, structures, thermal controlCompetency in CAD (Solidworks)Experience with a variety of manufacturing methods and working with suppliersExperience generating technical documents including design descriptions, test plans and reportsProven ability to lead, train, mentor and coach othersExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWhy you should applyIf you are looking to join a company doing meaningful work that influences positive health outcomes and saves lives, joining Invetech as a Senior Mechanical Engineer may be just the right thing for you.
