Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer (Building and Construction)
Job Descriptions This is a leadership role that is accountable for construction projects from design to construct.
The role will lead and support project teams owning the outcome for construction of buildings, building service staff training, teams organization and tendering work.
The role is also responsible for the fitting out and interior decoration works related to the mechanical engineering areas and the overall design for particular projects.
As a Mechanical Engineer at senior management level, the day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:
Manage the overall delivery of allocated projects. Assign resources to deliver the works within budget, time, quality and regulatory standards, monitor and guide workflow, setting daily, weekly and long-term project goals. Provide constructability input to the mechanical design and development of projects. Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates. Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue. Monitor staff and labour resourcing to ensure the project is achieving targets. Perform all duties in accordance with Sydney policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures. Perform internal cost tracking and external cost reporting per client requirements. Identify and manage project changes. Contribute to and foster a good safety culture. Skills & Technical Experience A minimum of 8 years' managerial experience in an engineering role in the construction and building sector. Sound understanding of mechanical engineering and construction design. Experience in leadership, mentoring, coaching and directing internal colleagues. Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with external contractors and suppliers. Competence in staff management & leadership to the team, setting KPI's and scheduled reviews. Ability to monitor contractors and suppliers to deliver high quality services. Skillful and experienced in negotiation with contractors and projects bidding. Personal Qualities Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply (especially those who can speak Cantonese/Mandarin). Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work in an environment across all levels of internal and external parties. A high level of creativity and strong problem-solving skills. Job Details Pay: $150,000 p.a. or above
