Description About the role We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our busy and friendly Melbourne Mechanical team. The role is suitable for a qualified candidate who has sound Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design experience on building projects.
We are looking for someone who is able to work independently and as part of a wider team, on a wide range of projects with an ability to manage workload on several projects at any given time. Experience on data centre and/or commissioning agent projects is preferred. You will be expected to regularly attend client facing meetings, industry events and will have good consulting skills.

We are currently working on a wide range of data centre, health care, commercial, retail, defence, industrial and educational building projects.
Day to day tasks would involve: Produce and develop HVAC Engineering designs, heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentation
Onsite representation for commissioning activities and assisting with systems level testing
Represent Stantec externally to Clients, managing these relationships and generate repeat business by providing a focus on client satisfaction.
Provide clear direction to drafters and site contractors
Bring value to in-house design/project meetings
Provide positive contributions to our team culture
Adhere to Stantec professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
To be successful for this role you'll need: Hold a Mechanical Engineering Degree
Have 5 years mechanical (HVAC) consulting engineering experience in the Building Services industry
Ideally have experience working on mission critical and data centre projects
Working towards CPEng
Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards
Working knowledge of Revit and other software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
