team on a

4-year fixed term . This role is dedicated to the design, testing, and compliance of rolling stock systems as part of a landmark project delivering a fleet of Queensland-made passenger trains. While the role will be based in the office full-time initially, hybrid arrangements (1–2 days working from home per week) may be offered, consistent with the rest of the team.RemunerationStarting from an annual base salary of $138,939 + 12.75% Superannuation. We are committed to finding the right candidate and salary will be commensurate with the role and your unique contributions and expertise.About The RoleAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful design, compliance, and testing of rolling stock systems. You will work closely with contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and deliver a fleet of world-class passenger trains.Key Responsibilities Include:Reviewing rolling stock mechanical systems to ensure compliance with the Safety and Environment Management System (SEMS) standards.Participating in design review workshops and resolving technical issues collaboratively.Reviewing contractors' SEMS compliance plans and certification documents for new rolling stock.Conducting technical reviews and supporting prototype, production, and testing activities.Overseeing and witnessing static and dynamic testing for SEMS compliance.Performing technical assurance reviews of type and routine testing evidence and reports.About YouYou are a detail-oriented and collaborative engineer with a passion for delivering safe and reliable rail systems. You have a strong background in passenger rolling stock design or testing and are committed to achieving high standards in your work.Skills/QualificationsA Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent qualification.Experience with rolling stock systems, maintenance requirements, and compliance with international and Australian standards.Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with stakeholders.Familiarity with SEMS standards and their application in rail projects would be advantageous.Typical Working HoursOur standard working hours are 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.Whilst limited, there may be a requirement for some pre-planned/occasional ad-hoc travel.If you are a dynamic and results-oriented engineer with a passion for excellence, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
