Senior Mechanical Engineer- Boiler Design This position is located in Albany, NY area Our Client company is the leading Boiler company in the Upstate NY area. Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated seasoned heat transfer / mechanical engineer to provide leadership, technical oversight, design and engineering management of our Pressure Vessel Manufacturing operation. This opportunity has tremendous growth potential as it is an industry first product. The successful candidate for this position has a broad understanding of all areas of, design, manufacture and successful operation of boilers. Responsibilities Senior Manufacturing Design / Mechanical Engineer experienced in the design of Heat Transfer Equipment; pressure vessels. Strong verbal and written communication skills, project mechanical management skills, a team player willing to mentor and manage junior engineers and the ability to lead the mechanical aspects of multiple projects simultaneously is required. The successful candidate will • develop and implement engineering and design concepts for commercial and industrial boilers (conventional, condensing designs) • be experienced with Code calculations and record keeping in accordance with Company QC Manual • Responsible for proper ASME code design, piping stress analysis and material selection. • P&ID creation to specific project requirements • provide internal assistance to sales with real time data exchange • Possesses know-how on steam generation and all related equipment • direct the activities of mechanical CAD / Solidworks and design support staff • maintain material acceptance, review, acceptance and inventory program of all Code material • Has advanced skills on process and mechanical design of Boilers, Boiler Components and design of Boiler Safeguarding systems. Requirements: • BS in Engineering • Minimum of 5 years pressure vessel design and manufacturing experience. • Proficiency with ASME PVC stress software &/or vessel design software. • Knowledge of the ASME PV Code. • Experience with ASME Audits. • Extensive experience performing engineering tasks as the lead mechanical engineer from concept design through manufacture and testing to various codes. • Thorough knowledge of ASME BPV code, Sections I, IV and VIII. • Experience reviewing mechanical plans, specifications.
