About Us Shelly Beach Mechanical originally started out with one workshop at Shelly Beach in 2017 and expanded to a 2nd location in Long Jetty in 2021. We are seeking an experienced motor mechanic / technician to become an integral member of our Long Jetty team.
Our team takes pride in consistently producing work of the highest standard, always being transparent in our pricing and providing excellent customer service. We are a small team, we need someone that is happy to talk to customers both in person and over the phone, confident in their diagnostic abilities and is a strong communicator.
Located in a quiet street in Long Jetty, on the Central Coast of NSW, with proximity to plenty of local cafes, good coffee options and beaches. Workshop is open Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm (no weekends).
The Role You will work closely with a senior technician, admin and workshop manager, in a positive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities / Duties Servicing, maintenance and repairs on all makes and models Utilise diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately identify problems, define the scope of work required to rectify issues Minor and major mechanical repair work A/C Service & Repairs Engine and transmission rebuilds Complete job cards, quote on repairs and service items Clear communication skills with customers over the phone and in person regarding what repairs are required and why Pre-purchase inspections Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment for yourself and others Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continuously improve skills and knowledge Qualifications, Skills and Experience Mechanical trade certificate / licence, registered with NSW Fair Trading Valid driver's licence Strong diagnostic problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality workmanship Self-motivated, professional, friendly demeanour Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance tasks Expert understanding of automotive systems and components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team Effective time management Experience with Hybrid vehicles is an advantage A/C ticket is preferred or willingness to complete course Why Join Us?
