CCQ delivers the primary health network (PHN) program for Central Queensland, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast on behalf of the Commonwealth Department of Health. CCQ has an ambitious agenda to design and deliver better primary health outcomes for the people in their region. Achieving this will require CCQ as a commissioning organisation to not only focus on primary health service provision but also on the environmental, social and cultural determinants of health which support communities to live their best lives.
CCQ's diverse region covers 161,108 km2 from Sunshine Coast to Rockhampton and west to Emerald. The population in the region is just under 1M people with around 68% living regionally or remotely and more than 28% living in the most disadvantaged quintile. CCQ collaborates with the community to provide exceptional primary healthcare services to reduce health inequalities for the region. CCQ has seven key priorities for health improvement: mental health, alcohol and other drugs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, population health, health workforce, digital health and older person's health.
About the role
The Senior Manager Workforce at Country to Coast QLD (CCQ) is responsible for overseeing the delivery and management of CCQ's health workforce programs, ensuring they are executed on time, within budget, and meet reporting requirements. This role plays a critical part in engaging stakeholders, including local education and workforce providers, primary health providers and community services, to support program initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyse data, identify health workforce needs and priorities, , and develop plans and programs designed to address these.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Education and Workforce, the Senior Manager Workforce will lead a small team (3) of Education and Workforce Coordinators, delegating tasks and offering subject matter expertise in workforce demand and supply analysis. This role requires an AHPRA registered clinician with experience in healthcare management and a deep understanding of the health and primary care systems. With strong data literacy skills, the ideal candidate will derive insights from data to inform and refine workforce planning activities. Regular intra-regional travel and occasional out-of-hours work are required to fulfill this role effectively.
Tertiary qualifications are required, along being AHPRA registered. Applications are encouraged from applicants with clinical, public health, business, project management or leadership qualifications and experience.
This role will ideally commence 02 December 2024 through until 01/12/2025. The office has a Christmas closure period of 2 weeks from 20/12/24.
