About the RoleThe Senior Manager, Strategy, Capital & Funding is a critical role in the end-to-end Home Loans business, leading a team of strategists in setting the vision for the business over the next 3-5 years.
This role defines the business strategy across the Home Loans value chain, in order to position ANZ as a market leader in Home Loans across the short and longer term. It generates the strategy underpinning profitable growth including the transition to and profitable management of future state businesses.
The successful person will bring a broad perspective to Home Loans, with a view both the external environment, the market, internal capabilities and as well as bringing banking-adjacent ideas from other industries.
This role is key in ensuring Home Loans are managed profitably will forensically understanding our capital models and RWAs, to find opportunities to increase the efficiency of our RWAs.

What will your day look like?Your key accountabilities in this role include but are not limited to:
Build a new team of strategy professionals within Home Loans creating an environment of creative problem solving, disciplined planning and business expertise.Develop a new level of strategic thinking and planning across the Home Loans Portfolio, contributing to a highly aligned Home Loans team that is committed to the strategy and clear on its deliverables.Develop a forensic understanding of Home Loans capital models and RWAs. Identify and execute opportunities to increase the efficiency of our RWAs.Offer expert advice to the Home Loans Leadership Team on how ANZ can continue to grow its position and outperform the competition.Lead and coordinate strategic reviews of new business opportunities and risks.Keep a keen eye on developments within and outside the industry, with a lens to drive ANZ towards best practice.Work with the Home Loans analytical, pricing, originations, customer experience and Finance teams to identify ways to orient the book towards higher returning segments.Work with distribution channels on continuing to evolve the channel strategies.Coordinate Home Loans LT strategy offsites.What will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Deep experience in business strategy formulation and execution along with a pragmatic and iterative approach, focused on delivering real impact.Strong commercial acumen, backed by strong analytical skills and capability to develop and deliver effective presentations to senior management, executive and board level audiences.A role model as a people leader, mentor, and coach and a proven track record of developing new and emerging leaders.Demonstrates excellent strategic judgement for "higher order" value and growth over multiple horizons. A multi-disciplinary thinker who can define and drive value across all facets of a business.A deep sense of curiosity and an interest in identifying new business opportunities and solving emerging problems.A strong people leader capable of developing and fostering talent, within their own team as well as across the wider business.Demonstrates calm and composure when under pressure. Is perceived by those around them as self-assured, measured and someone who can function effectively in high-stakes environments to deliver optimal results for ANZ.Highly effective stakeholder management skills – an approachable and accessible leader who can work with and coordinate input from across end-to-end Home Loans and maintain alignment with the needs of each business area.A reputation as a deep thinker who understands and appreciates the subtleties and complexities of a large scale regulated Retail business.Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian mortgage market, and international markets and trends.You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
