Management (Community Services & Development)Full timeSalary Packaging and Hybrid Work EnvironmentAbout the Role:We are seeking a Senior Manager Safeguarding Consultants, Location - Blackburn, VICTORIA (other areas will be considered) / for a Full time - Permanent opportunity.Purpose of the Role:This role is responsible for overseeing Divisional Safeguarding Consultants to promote best practices in safeguarding across The Salvation Army. Key duties include leading the implementation of the Child, Youth, and Vulnerable People Safety and Wellbeing Framework, providing professional supervision and reflective practice sessions for safeguarding staff, reviewing and advising on safeguarding cases to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, and collaborating across the organization to embed a child-safe culture and support the Safeguarding Strategy.Key Roles and Responsibilities:Supervision and Wellbeing Support: The role involves providing regular professional supervision to Lead Safeguarding Consultants, ensuring their wellbeing and accountability in their safeguarding duties.Safeguarding Reporting and Monitoring: A key responsibility is to ensure that safeguarding reporting systems, including registers of individuals exhibiting concerning behaviours, are accurately maintained and regularly monitored.Data Analysis and Reporting: The incumbent is responsible for identifying trends and areas for improvement from safeguarding assurance activities.Standardization of Safeguarding Practices: The role ensures that safeguarding practices and standards are consistent across The Salvation Army.Liaison and Escalation: Regular liaison with Divisional Leaders and other relevant stakeholders is essential.Collaboration on Allegations and Investigations: The role works closely with the Manager of Investigations and Complex Review to handle allegations of abuse or misconduct.Audit and Compliance: Supporting Lead Safeguarding Consultants in conducting safeguarding self-assessments and audits as scheduled.Child-Safe Practice at Camps: The role also supports Safeguarding Consultants in embedding child-safe practices at Camps.Risk Assessments and Safety Planning: Guidance is provided to Safeguarding Consultants in completing fact-finding assessments and developing appropriate safety management plans.Team Participation and Support: The incumbent actively participates in team activities and meetings.Participation in Key Meetings: The role requires attendance at key meetings such as the Safeguarding Team Senior Leadership Team (SLT).Education Qualifications:Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Criminology or Social Sciences, or similar.Previous experience of managing a team in a complex working environment.Previous experience in assessing complex safeguarding risks and child protection practice.Previous practice leader experience including delivery of Professional Supervision and Group Reflective Practice.Previous experience managing organisational change.Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive, and professional manner.Solid level of computer literacy in MS Office.Requirements of the role:A National Criminal History Check is required.A WWCC is required.Extensive experience in risk assessment in a child and family environment.This role will require flexible hours including periodic on call for weekends and public holidays.What we offer:NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit ($2,650).Flexible working conditions.Health, fitness and financial discounts / benefits.Paid parental leave - 12 weeks.Up to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave scheme.Up to 5 days paid leave per year to 'volunteer' in a TSA program or activity.Purpose driven career which has positive social and sustainable outcomes.Employee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service.Opportunity for career development.An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team members.About Us:The Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities.
