Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research)Full time, continuing HEW 9 positionBase salary will be in the range $130,046- $137,525 plus 17% SuperannuationWork at our vibrant and conveniently located About This Opportunity Join the University of Queensland as Senior Manager (Research Environment) and spearhead transformative initiatives to propel UQ's vision of cultivating a dynamic research environment.Drive the development and implementation of policies, programs, systems and reporting frameworks that enable research impact, researcher development, research translation and commercialisation, cross-University and cross-disciplinary collaboration, responsible research, openness and transparency and good governance.Working under the supervision of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research), this role will partner with senior University leaders across UQ and will work in close collaboration with the Office of the PVCR staff including the Director Research Environment to develop and deliver major initiatives.Key responsibilities will include:Strategic Leadership of Research Environment Initiatives:Lead the development and implementation of initiatives to promote a positive research environment through governance, policies, programs, and systems.Manage end-to-end delivery of major initiatives, from scoping and planning to evaluation.Analyse governance, processes, policies, and systems to ensure a responsible research environment.Provide project support, including monitoring, reporting, and managing scope changes.Team Management and Coordination:Lead and manage direct reports; coordinate stakeholder engagement activities.Conduct stakeholder analysis, support stakeholder engagement, and build collaborative relationships.Research Environment Planning and Reporting:Develop and maintain a strategic initiatives plan and delivery framework.Coordinate evaluation and reporting on various aspects of UQ's research environment.Lead initiatives for communication, curation, and celebration of the research environment.Ensure compliance with national and global research environment reporting requirements.Please contact for a copy of the full position description.About YouYou'll be a strategic thinker and with substantial experience in research management, governance and strategy and projects management.Postgraduate qualifications, with extensive relevant experience in a complex higher education research or similar environment;Expertise and experience leading initiatives related to research environment including good governance, programs and systems to support researcher development, research translation, commercialisation and impact, cross-University and cross-disciplinary collaboration, responsible research and openness and transparency;Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate, collaborate, consult, influence and negotiate with staff at all levels, as well as with external agencies and those with non-specialist knowledge;Proven analytical skills and experience in leading, coordinating, developing, and delivering major strategic projects;Demonstrated ability to initiate large projects with multiple stakeholders and bring them to a satisfactory conclusion within the specified timeframe;Expert understanding of the higher education sector and key dimensions of the research, including international frameworks, and a high-level of understanding of responsible research and innovation in practice, from both the researcher and institutional perspective;Commitment to delivering accurate and timely responses under pressure, whilst maintaining a quality client service focus;Demonstrated excellence in leadership across team, within teams and in the supervision and/or leadership of direct reports.The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
