Providing essential services through a significant network of assets, the organisation operates in an environment undergoing a major transition, driven by renewable energy projects, regulatory developments, technological disruption, and increasing consumer and industry engagement.The Role:Leading the Regulation, Economics and Pricing team, you will shape and implement Power and Water Corporation's economic regulatory strategies to meet its commercial and regulatory obligations, and broader strategic objectives.
This critical role will influence a diverse range of stakeholders to enable the delivery of least cost, safe and reliable electricity and water services to the Northern Territory community.Reporting to the EGM Customer, Strategy and Regulation, your key responsibilities will include:Driving people capability and culture to establish a high performing function.Developing and implementing economic regulation / pricing strategies and policy positions for the electricity and water lines of business.Proactively advocating for and advancing the Corporation's position on key economic regulation and policy issues.Leading the preparation of formal submissions to economic regulators and rule-making bodies.Overseeing regulatory analysis and economic modelling activities as an input into advocacy, regulatory submissions, cost to serve analysis and tariff development.Establishing strong relationships across the executive leadership team / CEO, cross-functional peers, and external stakeholders such as Australian Energy Regulator, NT Utilities Commission, Australian Electricity Market Commission, and consumer advocacy groups.Managing the development and planning of projects to support business initiatives.You will bring:Strong leadership that values both engagement and performance.A record of successfully managing complex regulatory issues through your strategic, commercial, and stakeholder engagement skills.Experience acquired ideally within the utilities or other regulated asset-based environment.A strong understanding of the multi-faceted challenges associated with meeting the needs of the customer, the business, and external regulators.An ability to develop cross functional relationships at all levels to support a whole of business approach to complex issues.A degree in an economics, law, accounting / finance or related field is highly desirable.Benefits:5 weeks annual leave.3 weeks personal leave.Professional development programs.Please note the role is based in Darwin and cannot be performed remotely from an interstate location.
