Our resilience has helped us through good and tough times, and it still drives us to keep pushing today's challenging expectations.The Senior Manager, Product – Cabin Development is responsible for developing and bringing to market accomplished aircraft cabins that will position Qantas as a progressive and innovative airline.
This role will lead a team within Inflight Customer Experience, reporting to the Head of Product, Aircraft and Passenger Products, who is responsible for new cabin development, cabin condition, inflight entertainment and connectivity, plus passenger products (all SKUs other than food and beverage).
Responsibilities of this role include hard product for linefit and retrofit new cabin programs, including items such as seating, furniture, colour, materials and finish.Central to this role is driving customer-led innovation through good design, balancing aesthetic, usability and maintainability considerations.
Navigating customer, cost, product lifecycle, time and weight constraints between the airline, designers, cabin vendors, engineering teams and aircraft manufacturers will be key.
Internal stakeholders include Brand and Marketing, Commercial Strategy, Engineering, Finance, Fleet and Procurement teams.As a leader, you are responsible for driving an innovative team culture with collaborative relationships with industry partners to deliver distinctive cabins that will drive both customer satisfaction and employee pride well into the future.
These cabins will have congruence with other touchpoints across the future Qantas customer experience and have the potential to position Qantas as an industry leader.In your role, you will –Have five years of experience in airline hard product development roles with relevant experience at a reputable airline, cabin vendor or design agencyHave a good sense for future design trends as well as a pragmatic understanding of airline economics and the challenges of the airline operational environmentHave a desire or track record of pushing the envelope with industry leading solutionsDevelop and execute aircraft cabin product strategy, balancing form with function, and incorporating customer, crew, engineering and maintenance insights to develop cabins with good aesthetic, usability, durability and maintainabilityLead product management initiatives, including prioritisation, problem-solving, and analytical thinking, with a focus on agile and human-centered design principlesFoster effective collaboration and communication across teams, ensuring successful project and time management.Lead the cabin development team effectively, ensuring compliance with industrial agreements, dispute settlement processes, and driving successful change management.Manage supplier and partner relationships, ensuring cost management and delivery to project timelinesDemonstrate a healthy financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and achieve key business objectives.Why Qantas?You'll join a team where creativity and passion are encouraged.
