About the team
This role will sit within Commonwealth Private's Private Wealth team, supporting the Private Wealth Distribution Team and working closely with the Investment Research Team, Investment Operations Team, and Platform Operations Team.
About the opportunity
The Senior Manager Private Wealth Markets will operate as the manager of the execution services for Private Wealth and report into the General Manager - Private Wealth. This role is a key contributor to the delivery of quality operational outcomes for the broader Private Wealth offering.
Responsibilities include:
Managing the execution of investments on behalf of clients across all asset classes including direct equities, bonds, FX, and managed funds. Managing the implementation of portfolios as they pertain to managed accounts and direct investments. Helping to embed risk and control governance uplift within the Private Wealth Team and broader business. Driving the review and uplift of internal processes and procedures to deliver operational efficiencies. Contributing to the effective operation of governance forums including the Product Management Committee and the Managed Account Working Group. Being an active and contributory member of the Private Wealth Leadership Team. Additionally, you will:
Analyse, develop, and enhance the operational framework for the Private Wealth Markets (Execution) Team. Utilise agile ways of working to support efficient business operations and timely delivery of initiatives. Support the development of procedures and processes for efficient investment delivery and adherence to regulatory obligations. Support the delivery of exemplary Investment Governance across the Private Wealth offering. Understand and comply with all regulatory policies and requirements. Represent Commonwealth Private's investment approach, philosophy, and principles. Assist in delivering a tailored investment service to Commonwealth Private's clients. Collaborate with Investment Directors and Private Bankers to identify clients that may benefit from our investment services. Help drive FUA and FUM growth and other revenue-generating activities. Keep meticulous electronic records and confirmations reflecting the client's investment selections. Provide critical feedback on current market conditions to the Private Wealth team and customers. Support the General Manager in educating colleagues on market activity. About you
To be successful, you will have:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, or Business. 5+ years' experience as an investment execution professional, trader, or investment adviser. Superior numeracy skills, acute attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure. Good understanding of risk identification and management. A solid understanding of wealth management ecosystems and processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in leading a small team.
