About the RoleThe Senior Manager, Operations (SMO) plays a vital role within the Emergency Communications Services team, overseeing the day-to-day management of agency portfolios for Triple Zero Victoria.
The role aims to enhance the emergency communications sector by fostering collaboration with emergency service agencies to improve service delivery and community safety.
The SMO is responsible for supporting state-wide emergency communication services, operational communications, and delivery, while strengthening strategic partnerships with emergency service organisations to ensure effective operating models that meet the needs of the community and stakeholders both now and in the future.
Day to day responsibilities include:
Manage TZV's emergency service agency portfolio and coordinate managers and supervisors to contribute to 000VIC's service delivery model.Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners to ensure an efficient, effective, and community-focused emergency service response, particularly during surge events.Lead and participate in inter-agency forums specific to the emergency service portfolio.Support TZV's strategic reforms and legislative obligations through proactive engagement with senior leaders across agencies.Collaborate with service design and delivery partners to ensure communication systems support effective service delivery.Monitor initiative implementation and champion continuous improvement within the agency stream, while engaging senior leaders to prioritize collaboration across emergency communications services.To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Public Safety / Emergency Management or extensive demonstrated experience in the field.Extensive senior-level operational management experience within emergency communication or emergency management, including leadership, strategic planning, resource optimization, and workforce management.Proven leadership in operational communications and emergency management, with experience in leading high-performing teams in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.Strong skills in process design, project management, change management, business improvement, and data analysis, with a comprehensive understanding of emergency services and relevant government policies.Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships across multiple stakeholders in complex, multi-agency settings.Demonstrates strong personal qualities such as ethical conduct, leadership, workplace safety focus, clear communication, and the ability to manage pressure and competing priorities.What We Can Offer YouYou will be supporting a critical service to the Victorian community and will be rewarded with a competitive salary, flexible working arrangements and employee benefits including:
