Rabobank's Enterprise and Operational Risk team is a dynamic & high performing team within the banks Risk function. The team currently has an opening in Sydney for a Senior Manager, Operational Risk Frameworks Change, Product & Execution Risk. This is a newly created ANZ regional role suited to a senior hands-on operational risk practitioner who can leverage their expertise in Risk in Change.
This role is responsible for designing, embedding & enhancing Operational Risk frameworks, standards, policies, & tools for a portfolio of non-financial operational risks & sub-risks, including Change, Product & Execution related risks across Australia & New Zealand. You will draw on your knowledge to provide operational risk insights, specialist advice & independent challenge.
Top Role Accountabilities: Perform governance & oversight activities over specified Operational Risk Frameworks across Australia & New Zealand. This includes where required, supporting the development & implementation of relevant policies, standards, procedures & tools.Identify, design, implement & maintain enhancements to the Risk Management Framework in line with the global framework, & local regulatory expectations & requirements across Australia & New Zealand.Ensuring requirements of APRA's CPS-230 Operational Risk Management are considered & incorporated where needed.Support reporting by undertaking analysis & providing insights to senior management & Risk Management Committees/ Business Approval Review Committee.Represent 2nd line & provide technical & specialised advice on operational risk matters, primarily related to Change, Product & Execution Risks, ensuring processes, tools, controls & governance are robust & efficient.Lead & support activities related to the risk management cycle that includes risk identification, assessment, response, monitoring, reporting, finding & incident management.Provide 2nd Line oversight as to the effectiveness of frameworks, risk & control measures.Monitor the status of risk mitigation actions & report on overdue actions.Controls Testing: Provide advice & support on the design of controls & conduct independent control effectiveness testing primarily for change related risks.In addition, the Senior Manager, Operational Risk may also be required to assist the Heads of Operational Risk in Australia & in New Zealand with other activities and other sub-risks as required.
To be successful in the role, you will have: 8-10 years work experience with at least 3 years in the financial sector in Operational Risk Management.Prior experience & knowledge in Risk In Change Frameworks.A thorough understanding of Operational Risk Management within the financial services industry & related regulatory standards (Basel II & APRA Prudential Standards including CPS-230 Operational Risk Management).A thorough knowledge of causes influences & drivers of Operational Risk Risk Taxonomies.A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.Excellent attention to detail, demonstrable analytical skills & a high level of discretion.Sound relationship management skills.An ability to manage stakeholder groups across all 3 Lines of Defence & to drive change successfully.What we're proud to offer you: Rabo@Anywhere: is our hybrid way of working at Rabobank & for Australia, that means we have a blend of time working between the office & home.
