About the RoleAs a Senior Manager - Operational Risk & Compliance in our Line 2 Institutional - Operational Risk & Compliance (OR&C) Team, you'll play a key role in providing advisory/review & challenge to Business Units and Countries as the Institutional Division accelerates work to embed Non Financial Risk (NFR) across the entire risk management life cycle and strengthen operational resilience. This role is responsible to lead and conduct oversight/review & challenge over Institutional Division's key embedding activities in FY25+.
The I.AM Amplified Program is an ANZ wide initiative that aims to uplift processes, systems and data related to Non-Financial Risk (NFR) and compliance with our obligations. I.AM Amplified is a high priority project with significant regulatory focus with a roadmap leading into FY26+ focussed on maturing and embedding NFR across the entire risk management lifecycle, and strengthening operational resilience.
This is a key role to support the Line 2 Institutional Operational Risk & Compliance (OR&C) team providing consult/review & challenge to Business Units and Countries as the Institutional Division accelerates work on 'embed phase' to achieve target end state.
Role Type: Fixed-Term (10 months), Full-Time Role Location: 833 Collins Street, Docklands VIC 3008 Work Hours: 40 hours/week What will your day look like?This role is accountable for:
Leading targeted 'embed' thematic reviews on agreed focus areas across Enterprise to provide an opinion on successful embedding. Areas include:Closure of issues and Day 2 activities from completed I.AM Amplified Releases.Divisional completion of activities aligned to the FY26+ Target State.Line 1's plan and implementation activities to embed process management to strengthen operational resilience post CPS 230 ensuring inclusion of all High Impact Processes (HIPs) and operations with alignment to standardised Enterprise approach.Communication and education of NFR Framework, Reporting and System requirements across Institutional Line 2 Risk Officers and Country Risk Theme Officers through training, comms and ongoing support to ensure the successful embedding of the NFR Operating Model. Includes oversight/review & challenge over Line 1's embedding of the NFR Operating Model.Advisory on framework, system and reporting evolution working with Divisions/Enterprise for continuous improvement and simplification.Support countries to complete Compliance Uplift activities as and when required as part of Day 2 activities.What will you bring?To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Extensive experience in Non-Financial Risk or Audit (or similar experience through Business Governance & Controls, Assurance, Well Managed Roles).Demonstrated Experience with banking products and services, in an Institutional context.Knowledge and ability to use Risk Systems (built on IBM Open Pages, Service Now) and other Risk Toolkits and Dashboards.Knowledge and ability to use process mapping tools like Signavio.Experience with current NFR Transformation Framework/Systems – i.e. I.AM Amplified, NFR Hub, Qliksense.Strong Data analytical skillset – i.e. ability to synthesize large volumes of data to provide insights.Ability to build strong, open and collaborative working relationships, across an international footprint.Demonstrated leadership experience through an ability to think about complex issues in a strategic and/or commercial manner, considering the broader context and implications.Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with a values led culture.Curious mindset with a willingness to learn.Proven ability to influence and ability to manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional manner.Confidence to own your opinions and challenge in a professional manner.Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills, with attention to detail.You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
