Position Summary The Senior Manager provides high-quality, strategically aligned, flexible, and confidential support to the Pro Vice Chancellor of RMIT Vietnam. This position works closely with the Executive Leadership Team and collaborates with senior academic and administrative staff in Vietnam and, as required, liaises with senior staff in Australia. With a commitment to cross-cultural communication, the Senior Manager ensures effective collaboration across diverse teams, fostering an inclusive environment that respects and adapts to various cultural perspectives.
The role contributes to RMIT Vietnam's strategic planning and performance management by overseeing key strategic priorities and commitments that require PVC oversight, ensuring quality within agreed timeframes and managing risk appropriately. Additionally, this position takes responsibility for high-quality reporting and stakeholder engagement, supports the PVC in operational management, and engages in external representation of the Office of the PVC Vietnam.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Significant leadership skills including the capacity to initiate, lead and manage in a challenging and dynamic environment and to provide high level strategic advice and ability to understand issues at both a broad strategic level and at a detailed operational level.Demonstrated successful experience in the development, interpretation and implementation of policy and procedure to progress organisational objectives.Demonstrated outcome-focused project management skills, along the entire project life cycle, utilising a variety of methodologies and evidence of capability building for a delivery team.Demonstrated capacity to think and plan strategically, in a diverse and complex stakeholder environment, paired with an ability to drive execution and delivery within defined parameters.High level conceptual, planning, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to undertake a consultative approach, exercise significant judgement, display emotional intelligence and initiative when addressing complex problems and providing advice for varied audiences.Outstanding interpersonal, communication and business writing skills, with the ability to lead, direct and influence others, including a proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups.Preferred Working experience in the Higher Education /University sector.Prior working experience in Asia.Experience in complex, matrix working environments.Further information The role is located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and is open for both local and expatriate candidates. All foreign employees must adhere to the requirements for obtaining a valid visa and work permit in Vietnam. These requirements are mandated by the Government and may be over and above the mandatory requirements and key selection criteria. The minimum qualification to be eligible to apply for a work permit is at least a bachelor's degree. Please be aware that work permit requirements are subject to change.
