About the role The Senior Manager, Media & Corporate Affairs is responsible for implementing both internal and external communications strategies and initiatives for a leading Sydney destination. Reporting to the Group General Manager of Media & Corporate Affairs, this role plays a key part in driving proactive public relations, managing reactive issues, and coordinating internal communications to support the overall communications strategy.
Day to day activities In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance brand visibility in the media and with external audiences, while also protecting brand reputation through effective issues management. Additionally, you'll collaborate with departments such as Marketing, Social Media, Food & Beverage, and Hotels to maximise promotional opportunities.
Primary tasks: Managing the end-to-end process of media announcements, including drafting press releases, briefing documents, media events, and pitching stories.Preparing post-campaign reports to highlight return on investment.Overseeing on-site photography and videography to ensure brand representation aligns with company standards.Crafting reactive media statements to address incoming media enquiries, with timely internal approval.Participating in an on-call roster to monitor central communications and maintain an issues log.Ideal candidate: 5-8 years of experience in media or communications.Strong communicator, both written and verbal.Skilled in project management, media relations, pitching, and issues management.Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, PR, or a related field.For a confidential discussion please contact Kiran Gahir on ******** or apply via the link.
