JOB DESCRIPTION: This role leads the National Trust's marketing and community engagement portfolio by developing strategic programs that promote opportunities for the community to value Western Australia's heritage.
A particular focus will be to drive community engagement through education, place activation, visitor engagement, membership, advocacy and heritage services linked to the National Trust Strategic Plan.
Duties and Key Responsibilities: Leads the National Trust's marketing, community engagement portfolio and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement program by developing strategic programs that promote opportunities for the community to value Western Australia' s heritage; Leads the portfolio and represents its aspirations and operations internally and externally; Leads the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement program; Responsible for community engagement through education, place activation, visitor engagement, membership, advocacy and heritage services linked to the National Trust Strategic Plan; Positions the National Trust as the pre-eminent community organisation chartered with the conservation and interpretation of our heritage; Responsible for the building of the National Trust's brand values and the championing of the brand; Develops and leads strategy to engage the community in the value of heritage; Develops and leads a strategic education program that engages both school students and the broader community; Develops and leads an activation program to increase visitation at National Trust places; Develops relationships and programs which advance the National Trust's cause and its resources; Develops and leads a strategic membership acquisition and development program to increase the number of members and the quality of their membership experience; Develops and leads a strategic volunteer acquisition and development program, including assisting caretakers in regional places; Ensures the experience of the place at each National Trust site open to the public is presented in a way which is internationally competitive; Develops and leads a strategic approach to the delivery of communications across all channels; Oversees the management of the National Trust's Reconciliation Action Plan; Oversees the management of National Trust caretakers at regional places; Identifies and promotes staff training and development opportunities; Responsible for the budgetary and financial requirements and reporting processes in all areas of responsibilities; Other duties as directed by the Chief Executive Officer. SELECTION CRITERIA: Essential: Demonstrated, high level understanding of the role heritage plays in the cultural ecology; Demonstrated, high level competency in developing successful community engagement programs; Demonstrated, high level understanding of the role of education in engaging the community to value heritage; Demonstrated, high level experience in leading marketing, communications and business development programs; Demonstrated, high level ability to conceive and execute strategic plans across multiple platforms; Demonstrated, high level leadership and management experience in a complex organisation with a community focus; Sound, demonstrated information technology skills including the use of MS Office suite of software including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Possession of a "C" Class Driver's Licence; National Police Clearance. Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in marketing, community engagement, communications, public relations or other related disciplines; Experience working with a membership based organisation; Experience working with volunteers; FOR FURTHER JOB RELATED INFORMATION: Following an initial twelve month fixed-term contract, with a six month probationary period, subject to satisfactory performance and financial viability, a longer term extension and permanency may be offered.
