About the team The BDO Sydney IFRS Advisory team is a specialized team within the CFO Advisory team focused on the provision of technical and tactical accounting and financial reporting advice to existing and new BDO clients, and providing technical support to partners and professional staff around financial reporting.

About the opportunity We are looking for an experienced Manager who is ready to progress and step up their career. This role will work in the IFRS Advisory team to provide a range of advice and value to key stakeholders.

This role would ideally suit a professional who has worked in either consulting or advisory and would like to continue their career within this field. Or perhaps your background is more technical accounting and you're looking to widen the scope of your skillset.
Responsibilities: Performing and assisting with technical consultations (including general advice and more advanced tactical accounting consulting) within BDO and for BDO clients in Sydney.Working within the IFRS Advisory team to research, discuss and debate the appropriate conclusion for the application of accounting standards.Assisting with the preparation of accounting advice and IFRS implementation and compliance projects for external clients, including emerging climate-related financial disclosures.Attending and participating in regular meetings of BDO national and international IFRS Advisory team, with the opportunity to present your own views.Assisting and driving the growth of the team through development of your professional profile and other marketing and business development activities.About you You're an experienced Manager / early Senior Manager who's worked in a technical accounting or IFRS space ideally within professional services or a complex accounting firm. Your consulting / advisory background will be highly regarded but it's more about your growth mindset.
The successful candidate will have:
Proven knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).Demonstrable experience in analysing accounting issues.Commercial acumen and exposure to sector/industry specific issues.Demonstrated project management skills on longer-term engagements.Clear and effective communication skills.Passion and enthusiasm for accounting matters and interest or desire to be exposed to ESG/carbon-related financial disclosure standards.Strong client and stakeholder focus.Experience in a team environment where they managed performance for junior members of the team.Why BDO?
