Catering for up to one million visitors per year, we employ up to 1000 staff across Operations, Hospitality, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Events and Corporate functions.
The park offers guests unique experiences and attractions including 18 rides, retail outlets, unique event spaces and multiple food and beverage outlets.
Reporting to the General Manager – Safety & Operations, the Senior Manager - Health and Safety has a whole-of-business responsibility for the health, safety, and wellbeing of Luna Park Sydney's employees, contractors, and guests.
The role focuses on delivering effective health and safety management solutions, overseeing emergency procedures, policies, and training programs, and maintaining robust documentation and reporting systems, drive legislative compliance, champion a proactive safety culture to ensure Luna Park Sydney remains a leader in health and safety practices.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Governance & Risk Management: Develop and implement WHS plans, risk assessments, and maintain a comprehensive risk register.
Injury Management: oversee management of workers' compensation claims and Return to Work (RTW) plans, and support injury management practices.
Compliance & Auditing: Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, manage audits, and maintain safety documentation.
Emergency Management: Develop and lead emergency response plans, drills, and crisis management procedures.
Safety Training & Development: Deliver training programs, assess skill gaps, and implement ongoing safety education initiatives.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Provide expert advice, audit health and safety systems, and lead a high-performing team.
Financial Oversight: Manage the health and safety budget, including cost control for training and emergency preparedness.
Desired skills and experience
Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent education.
Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent education.
Occupational First Aid / Advanced First Aid or willingness or acquire.
Extensive experience in WHS roles, with a proven track record of health and safety leadership in high-risk or dynamic operational environments.
Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practices, particularly within NSW
Experience managing workers' compensation claims and developing Return to Work (RTW) plans.
Proficiency in leading risk assessments, audits, and WHS incident investigations.
Strong skills in contractor management and compliance oversight.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to liaise with external organisations such as iCare and emergency services.
Proven ability to deliver training and foster a safety-first culture
