The opportunity:Play a pivotal role in fostering a constructive and collaborative relationship with the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA).

Your new role:As the Senior Manager, Group Regulatory you will contribute to the ongoing success of QBE by ensuring we meet all regulatory obligations efficiently and comprehensively.
You will serve as a key liaison between QBE and APRA, managing regulatory responses, monitoring emerging trends, and advising stakeholders on regulatory developments.
Working closely with Compliance, Legal, and Group Risk teams, you'll help shape strategies that align with our business goals while ensuring robust compliance practices.
You will also:Serve as the primary liaison with APRA, managing regulatory interactions and responses.Ensure framework and processes are in place to monitor, review, analyse and report on regulatory developments and co-ordinate responses to Government and regulators in consultation with internal stakeholders to ensure balanced regulatory outcomes.Identify and monitor emerging regulatory trends, implications for QBE and, with business owners, strategies for establishing compliance controls.Prepare reports and briefings for Board and senior management, enabling the Board to form a view of the management of the Group's regulatory risk, including the compliance with APRA's requirements.Support the business in meeting prudential obligations and embedding regulatory best practices.The interview process will consist of 2-3 stages of interviews and background checks.
About you:Demonstrated experience in risk management from within the financial services industry.Detailed knowledge of APRA and other regulatory frameworks and requirements.Strong first or second line risk experience with the implementation and management of prudential standards.Agility and ability to effectively manage regulatory change proactively across the organisation.Expertise in managing regulatory affairs and the ability to effectively interpret and manage regulatory obligations.Proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives, have complex problem resolution ability and commercial acumen.About QBEWe can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
